Since this blog is Toxik's Dream I think the best way to start is by telling you who Toxik is. Many years ago before the world wide web as we know it, computer geeks used bbs's to communicate. There were many individual sites and a few main companies like Prodigy. Person to person messages were charged so people posted on message boards. When I first started it took 24 hours for a message to be posted. No such thing as chat then but it was quicker than the post office. Anyway, most people used screen names instead of real names. It was a little mysterious and let you be whoever you wanted. A few years later when chat became popular a friend and I were working on the computer together. We went into a chat room under Toxikdream. He was flirting with the girls and I was flirting with the guys. Needless to say, it confused a lot of people. My original screen name was Toxik. The first time I went online my friend Rachel said I needed a screen name. I looked above the computer at a picture of the band Slik Toxik and my online persona was born. A few years later I went offline for awhile and when I came back on, someone had stolen my name so I added the Dream to it.

On a side note, Slik Toxik also influenced the name of our cat Nikki. Her full name was Nicole Henrietta Sluf. Nicole from the lead singer Nicolas Walsh. Henrietta because our friend Buck's middle name was Henry. And all of our cats had the last name Sluf for "short little ugly fucker," a phrase Jai used to describe our first cat Ned. He was also named after some members of the Deboning Method because we acquired him at a party where we ran into Jimmy from that band.

I hope you enjoy my ramblings. I plan to include stories from my past and promise to keep them as true as I remember them. I also will talk about the present and future including some of my fiction writing. Later.
